After felling the Maple, I eventually carved the stump to make a high chair/sculpture so I could view the “Back 40” from my perch. I ended up changing my original idea to one with an open mouth. I’ve been collecting pics of visitors with the totem. Here’s what I have to date. Click on pics for a larger Pop-Up view.
Critical Update: During the last visit with Cindi’s BFFs, I tried to climb on top of the totem but a large piece of the upper jaw broke off and fell to the ground. I didn’t fall with it (thanks for asking) but I’m realizing how much internal rot is actually occurring under the painted veneer. I think I have a suitable patch figured out and will keep you posted.
